Belly-Bolly Fusion – Showcase 2026
Learn a Belly-Bolly dance routine and perform this LIVE on stage at Studio J Showcase 2026! Prior dance experience and/or completion of Raksha’s previous Belly Bolly courses is essential (new students must have dance experience and enquire prior to enrolling).

- Learn & refine foundation belly dance postures and isolations of specific body parts like hips, chest, and arms
- Explore fundamental belly dance movements such as hip circles, figure eights, shimmies, undulations, and more complex traveling steps
- Experience the joy of learning a basic belly-bolly choreography, set to an upbeat Bollywood song
- Have fun with a friendly group of adult beginner students

**PLEASE NOTE:**
– Regular attendance throughout this course is essential in order to participate in the final stage performance, including a compulsory dress rehearsal on show day. Class recordings will be available for independent catch up between classes. If you miss any sessions and have not caught up adequately, then your participation in showcase will be reviewed and may be revoked.
– Showcase will be on Sunday 2 August at Bunjil Place Theatre, Narre Warren. Dress rehearsal is from approx 9am onwards, with performance from 6pm. Students must keep this entire day available for now – exact timings to be confirmed.
– Unfortunately, there are no refunds, exchanges or credits for any reason.

Raksha began her bellydance journey in 2006, inspired by Shakira and a spark that grew into a lifelong passion. For nearly 20 years, she has trained across India and internationally in Egyptian Raqs Sharqi (Bellydance), Bollywood and Fusion styles.
With 12 years of teaching experience, she has trained hundreds of students, taught at major festivals, organised India’s biggest bellydance festival Arabella and coached Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez. She also performed in Jillina Carlano’s acclaimed Alice in Wonderland BDEx production. Now based in Melbourne, Raksha teaches Bellydance–Bollywood Fusion at Studio J Dance. She also performs with Finucane & Smith and the Melbourne Bellydance professional troupe.
