- Learn a South Indian femme style dance routine to banger South tracks! South Femme is a high-energy, commercial dance form designed to empower, celebrating femininity through, sharp, confident, and often sensual movements.
- Feel confident and comfortable in expressing your sensuality, whilst building stamina and confidence.
- Learn a short choreography in a safe and supportive environment.
- Have fun with a friendly group of adult students.
- This is not a technical class, come to have a groove and don’t stress about getting the steps “correct”.
- Choose to attend either in-studio (Studio J, Richmond) or online via Zoom
- This class is open to all skill levels, however the pace of the class may be at an intermediate level. For absolute beginners who are keen to learn dance foundations, we recommend enrolling in one of our 6-8 week beginner courses instead.

Ashwini, a seasoned dancer with over two decades of experience, is a versatile instructor at Studio J Dance. Her expertise spans a wide range of styles, including Bharatanatyam, Garba, South Street, Kathak, Bhangra, Contemporary, and Hip Hop. A passionate advocate for dance, Ashwini believes in its power to foster community, build friendships, and cultivate grace and discipline. Leveraging her background in HR and L&D, she creates a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive. Ashwini is also dancer and choreographer for Melbourne’s premiere Bollywood dance group – Sapphire Dance.
