Showcase Participation Terms

Showcase will be on Sunday 2 August 2026, at Bunjil Place Theatre, Narre Warren. A tech run on the same day is from approx 9am onwards, with show starting at 6pm. Students must keep this entire day available for now – exact timings to be confirmed.

Students may need to supply their own wardrobe basics such as tights & crop top, jeans/cargos, or personal prop items e.g gloves, sunnies and hats etc. Most dance specific items such as lenghas, dupattas, kurtas, coin belts, dandiya, dupattas, hair flowers and ghungroos will be supplied by Studio J as per previous years. However, occasionally the teacher may suggest budget friendly costumes for students to purchase in order to fit a certain theme or aesthetic (e.g coloured T-shirt or a classical dance saree/kurta).

Based on the show runsheet, multiple course sign ups may not be accepted due to costume change requirements. Please check the **FINAL** runsheet here and allow at least 3-4 acts in between to costume change. We will contact you upon your registration and refund any course fees should there be a conflict with the runsheet.

Attendance, Cancellation, Refunds & Credits

Regular attendance is required in order to participate in the final stage performance. Class recordings will be available for independent catch up between classes. If you miss any sessions and have not caught up adequately, then your participation in showcase will be reviewed and may be revoked.

No refunds or credits can be issued for cancelling your enrollment or missing class under any circumstances, including change of mind, illness, injury, pregnancy, pandemics, or absence from class for any reason. However, if you complete the full course without missing any in-studio sessions, and are not satisfied for any reason, then a refund will be issued.

In the rare event that your teacher is unable to take a class (e.g illness) then a guest teacher will be arranged or the class may be rescheduled or cancelled. For any cancelled classes or courses by Studio J, a full refund will be issued for the class/es affected.

Missed Classes & Absences

There are no refunds, transfers or credits for missed classes or absences. We encourage you to complete all sessions of your showcase term as preparation is essential to get you ‘stage ready’. We have mini recordings of your class, practice videos and group chats in place to make it easier for you to stay on track and get the most out of your course.

Regular attendance throughout this course is required in order to participate in the final stage performance (minimum 6-7 sessions plus dress rehearsal is compulsory). Class recordings will be available for independent catch up between classes. If you miss any sessions and have not caught up adequately, then your participation in showcase will be reviewed and may be revoked.

Age Requirement

You must be over 18 years of age to participate in all our showcase courses. For those aged 16-17, enrollments will be considered upon request.

Class Photos & Videos

Our teachers and some students occasionally take photos and videos during class, plus our showcase will be professionally filmed and photographed on the day. We may use any of this footage on our website, social media, and promotional material.
